Re: 883 now 1200

YES and YES . . . because the details have changed. You also need to inform your insurance company if you do Stage 1 etc or any other modifications. If you have an accident and need to claim, and your details are not registered properly, then they're in their rights not to pay a penny. So always better to be safe than sorry. Most of the time, modifications don't cost any more on the premium anyway

If it can't be fixed by Gaffer tape or WD40 then it's a female issue :-)

No problems with Bikesure either, with all sorts of silly mods in the recent past.

Worth trying to get to Bennetts' complaints dept., though and asking to speak to a supervisor... that often gets people waking up...

Re: 883 now 1200

I had the same problem with Bennets when cancelling insurance, got into a right row over the 30 quid, only to find out after to agreeing to pay that it was a tenner because there was only a month to go before renewel.

I've just been through the grind of ringing insurace companys for an FXSTC with Stage 1, V&H pipes etc.

Cheapest was HD insurance with agreed value
Next was Bikesure but without agreed value

Both companies knew their stuff when it came to talkng about mods and accessories.

Hope this helps.

Re: 883 now 1200

Got My wifes done at Le-Rock too (Kev's the man!!) but wished i'd just got a stock 1200 with all the bullshit you get from insurers, most say that you have to have a "custom Bike" policy because of the alteration. A stock 1200 would have been £105 fully comp, this one is £216!! with Carole Nash BUT the eu breakdown and legal cover is worth that alone so not too miffed now. The worst thing is when you tell them about it halfwy through the year and they turn around and say that they don't cover that!! then you have toi take out a new policy and "loose" 6 months of the old one. Tip: have the conversion done at renewal time between policys.
