| ACF-50 Question
Hi I have some ACF-50 here ready to spray/rub onto the Sporty. I have an ever so slightly damp garage which is not ideal for over-wintering a Harley but for now that's what I have. When the weather turns proper pants I'll put the battery on the Optimate, make sure the bike is dirt/dust free and coat most of the bike in ACF-50 until the M.O.T in January (of all times ).My question is, once the bike is coated in ACF-50 is it easy to remove again and what is the best way of removing ACF-50? Cheers Hills

| Re: ACF-50 Question
Don't spray it on the bike spray into can lid and brush and wipe on with a clean cloth. Good hot soapy water will get it all off but why take it off for the MOT, leave it on until all the salt has gone and top it up now and again with your saved impregnated cloth. from our search facility 'ACF50' typed in you have a load of previous to read: http://www.harley-davidson-hangout.c...earchid=851663 |

For what it's worth - my Cali Vintage sat outside last winter, covered in the stuff. I didn't clean it off until April, just topped it up every other week. The Ultra will be coated in it this year and stored in the same area - I dream of having a damp garage!

| Re: ACF-50 Question
I'm resurrecting on old question here to ask a new one.. The Sporty is currently in the garage with the battery on the Optimate4, it looks like it did when it went in there after the last wash and being coated in ACF50, which is good. My new question is; The ACF50 has been on the bike for a number of weeks now, it's gone from being runny to being thicker to the touch. Does ACF50 need reapplying provided the original coating is still there. I still have the cloth I first used impregnated with ACF50 but is there any point using more, cost in mind? Cheers all Hills

| Re: ACF-50 Question
doubt it, if it is going to sit in the garage for the winter. I have coated my sporty - according to the bloke from riders i ought to re-coat once a month if i am a regular winter rider, or can get away with recoating less frequently if i only ride occasionally. nick |

| Re: ACF-50 Question
Keep the optimax on your bike at all times while it's sitting in the garage summer and winter, use a brush to put the AEC50 on make sure it is put up under type places and particularly in corners and welded areas where condensation can/will sit, I would be a good idea to top it up as and when you think sutable, just keep an eye on it, You must eep it well away from any rubber tyres and brake pads, The best way to remove it next spring/summer is to brush on a degreaser like Jiser let it settle on the bike for 5 or so minutes "don't let it out" then wash it off with warm water, And finally wash the bike with soapy water and give it a good polish, Good luck
