HELP PLEASE!!! Urgent help needed

Have any of you got a 3.00x21 front wheel??? What tyre did you put on it??? Am being told that it is ok to fit the standard size Avon MH90x21 but having probs getting it to seal properly as the wheel is a fair bit wider than the 2.15x21 it came from. Any info gratefully received. Cheers guys

The recomended rim width for the MH90x21 is 1.85" with min 1.60" and max of 2.15". That makes your 3" rim nearly 50% wider than recomended so will be very difficult to seal and probably dangerous to ride if you manage it.

As Urrell says it seems to be far to wide for that tyre, Dont take chances here Vinnie mate.

Re: HELP PLEASE!!! Urgent help needed

After a quick look around I can't see a suitable tyre for a 3 x 21 rim. Suggest you research a US Harley forum like HD Forum to see what they are using over there. Some of them are fitting 21" front wheels to dressers with low-profile tyres so one of them might suit.

Re: HELP PLEASE!!! Urgent help needed

That rim is a fair bit wider than Avon recommend for a 3.00x21 tyre. Avon know what there talking about and if they don't recommend it personally I'd take that as gospel.
The problem with non standard/custom rims like the one you have is often there made for 1 set tyre so you then have to match the rear to suit.
-I have a similar problem on my bike with a 15" x 9" rim that only fits a Avon tyre. Luckily Avon are IMHO up near the top when it comes to tyres so it's not an issue for me,
Would you run anything but a top brand of tyre,- just because it fits in place?- Only you can awnser that.

Wink Re: HELP PLEASE!!! Urgent help needed

Here you go! According to a US forum, either Avon Cobra 120/70 or a Michelin of the same size will fit your 3" rim.

Re: HELP PLEASE!!! Urgent help needed

If in doubt consult the manufacturers own website they will give the correct size and fitment.

Like Kev says don't risk your life with dodgy tyres.

Thumbs up Re: HELP PLEASE!!! Urgent help needed

Phil,

I did check before posting! That size tyre is right for that width rim.
