Re: A guide to Santa Pod Raceway 2008

Best events to go to are the FIA Main event 23rd to 26th May 2008 and European Finals in September 4th to 7th .
Both events will feature a Super Twins which are esentially 600bhp top fuel Harleys, well worth a look.
Both events also feature Top Fuel bikes, Top Fuel Cars, Top Alcohol Cars and the lovely lovely Prom Mod cars, not the fastest but so good to look at.
The Pro Mods run about 0 to 225mph in 6.2 seconds so much faster than any sports bike jock to give you an idea. Top Fuel car is much faster still!
well worth a visit

Re: A guide to Santa Pod Raceway 2008

I went there once and wasn't impressed ........

It was a cold and windy day. There was 2 or 3 caravans selling teeshirts and hotdogs and I stood halfway down the strip with a bit of chain fencing separating me from the cars and bikes - and it cost me 10/- to get in

Mind you - it was 1966 - guess its grown a bit since then

Alas, I wont be there in the SuperTwins. My GP and consultant refused to sign the medical form for my ACU licence because of my spine. They havent said "never, ever" but they wont do it for this year. I guess I was a bit optimistic expecting them to sign it three months after the second fusion. The best I can do is run in the open RWYB events.

10/- to get in !!!!!!!!!!!!! more like Ł25.00 per day now i think, but well worth it. You will not see speed and noise anywhere else like it except on another drag strip. Forget race circuits.

Gonna try and make at least one metting this year
