Re: Ride to the wall 11th October 2008: Support all our fallen troops.

As an individual Club Member (and a newbie at that), I am so pleased to read all these comments and suggestions by the Club members who were able to attend yesterday. As we have ALL said : what a great and worthwhile day.

As Warbird says, whilst our memories are still vivid (and that war widow conversation I had will last forever), lets get crackin on next year. Many of us have now suggested some form of HDRCGB organisation/presence/meeting point/wreath laying etc. I am sure many of us will have conversations with our Region reps and the Committee but that always take time.

I would imagine there will be Club members who, for their own reasons, do not want to support such an event and I'm sure there are HOG Chapter members and the "other" motorcycle organisations represented yesterday who feel the same way. Hey, we all have our experiences, memories and views on life. Its cool.

I, for one, volunteer as an impromptu "...I'll get involved in some sort of organisation...involvement...as an individual or a HDRCGB member..." for next year. Anyone else ? PM me with email addresses, mobile numbers if you want and I'll start a distribution list for info, ideas etc as you send them to me.

It will take a few of us but by all these postings there were a lot of us there (but we did'nt know it) and a whole lot more who have not or do not access the forum - I know, I spoke to dozens of Club members and the general sentiments have already been expressed by those of us who do post.

Just caught sight of you as we rode in; was just behind Swinny and beside your friend and mine, Jimmy.

Pam has also said we are more than welcome to meet and use the club on Friday night and that if numbers get to many then she will open the function room for us. So even if in a hotel near by what about an impromptu get together there on the Friday evening? There is also a fuel station 100m down the road.
Should you wish to stop/camp there on the Friday night you will need to let Pam know asp by phone either on 07983520151 or 01827892227 so that she can control numbers and find out arrival times so that she can coordinate staff. Hope this is of some help.

Hi All
Well a few of us made it to the Coppice on the Friday night and par took of a gallon or two of midlands hospitality Pam made us very welcome and has offered us the use of the club with camping next year. a great day and a great turn out. I would also like to add my vote to the show of club unity, flags flying. ect
