| AACUK news and events
Hi, my name is Debbie Shakeri. I am and have been a member of the American Auto Club over the last seven years. At our most recent AGM in November 2008, I was elected onto the Club Committee as Public Relations Officer. It is for this reason that I am posting on your forum, to both introduce myself and to give an update on our Club news, and of our forthcoming events for 2009. The AACUK, has gone from strength to strength in recent years. At the helm we have Richard Miller, once again voted in as our CEO. His wealth of experience in the American car scene is invaluable, and his dedication to the club very loyal. The club is now also complimented by an almost full serving committee. The only present vacant post being that of Chief Marshall. The new position of merchandise officer has been filled by Adrian and Julie Miller. Adrian was previously the Public Relations Officer, and his wife Julie has always been an active member, readily helping out at our shows. Combined they have good experience as to the clubs needs, and should prove very well in their new post, sourcing and providing a new and existing range of merchandise to promote the club. The Committee as elected at the AGM 2008 are; Chief Executive Officer Richard Miller Vice CEO Kev Farmer Treasurer John Latham Membership Secretary Pete Routledge Editor Lynn Farmer Public Relations Officer Debbie Shakeri Commercial Advertising Laurence Davis Security Officer Carl Cank Trade Stands Co-ordinator Keith Hill Merchandising Officer Adrian and Julie Miller The present serving committee are very enthusiastic about the running of the club, and the events we have planned for this year. With the stability the club now enjoys, we have noted from members the request to improve the events and shows we put on. Therefore, we have made changes to the venues that we will be using this year, to hold some of our shows, hoping that we can bring added attraction to improve upon attendance. The dates and venues of our events are as listed; SPRING NATIONALS APRIL 24/25/26th VICTORIA FARM (Eddie's Place) LUTTERWORTH BEEHIVE JIVE 4 MAY 29/30/31st venue to be confirmed SUMMER NATIONAL JUNE 26/27/28th COOMBE COUNTRY PARK AACUK NO NAME SHOW JULY31st/1/2nd AUGUST STOKE PRIOR SPORTS & SOCIAL CLUB , NEAR BROMSGROVE AUTUMN NATIONALS NEW VENUE SEPTEMBER18/19/20th STANFORD HALL, NEAR LOUGHBROUGH, INCORPORATING A ROCK n ROLL WEEKEND In addition to our forthcoming events, as a club we produce our own monthly magazine, by our excellent Editor Lynn. The magazine is free to club members. It comes filled with interesting articles, some of which members scribe themselves. It also holds important event information, and advertises local sources for interest in the American Car world. The magazine also details information on Club reps and monthly meets local to your area. Many reps organize local events in addition to our annual shows, so there is never an opportunity not to find something going on somewhere! The club is further complimented by our own website, American Auto Club UK - Owners & Enthusiasts Club , again this provides loads of interesting info, and we have a forum to join in on to. If you as a club would like to attend our shows, and have your own stand/display area, as long as you pre-book to secure your space, you would be very welcome to join us. We would just love to see some more Harley's there and there is a trophy for Best Bike. If anyone has any comments or queries with relation to the AACUK, committee members and club reps may be contacted directly through our website, or if you would like to contact me directly, please email me at Debbieshakeri@hotmail.com Look forward to hearing from anyone or meeting you at the shows, Debbie |
