Harleys are NOT tractors, you feed them diesel and they STOP!

Never mind, glad you all had a good day out and i'll report back on damage i caused!

Ouch! Always one of my fears that I re-fuel on autopilot one day and put in diesel.

you are lucky to a point Its Far far worse to put petrol into a diesel vehicle, you should be able to clear it out without too much agro

I just thought putting diesel into a Harley for more ecconomy, someone got to try it ,might of known it would be a Scotsman to try it first
And on a numpty note i can personaly state without fear of contradiction Shovelheads dont walk/ride on water ive tried

Sportyrich i'll come clean i once tried to ride my shovel accross a river ,it didn't look very deep but i had to kill the engine half way accross as the water was begining to cover the drag pipes ,i felt a right plonker as i pushed me bike across the river with my boots covered in water so we've all done daft things but fair play to Gordon for owning up

There was me thinking that i could save a few pence as a "typical jock" and Hippy had already tried running his shovle on water!


For future referance i have made a personal note not to try and save pennies running harleys on Diesel now, it costs MORE inside a mile.

I know what you mean. I did the same thing a couple of years ago, owned up on here looking for help.

Filled it up on the Friday afternoon, after a nightshift week, was back on the road by Sunday.

Chris, thought you had remembered about me doing that, just before the Reivers do that year. Big Mick (helmetbolt) was calling me Deisel Dickie all weekend .
