Taking the wife out

Need some advice....

Taking the wife out for the first time on the back of the bike, she hasnt been on the back of a bike since she was young when she went out with an idiot on the back of a sports bike who thought it would be fun to scare the living *** out of her. Ive finally convinced her to jump on the back tomorrow morning and it just so happend its our anniversary so... I need to find an easy ride route around the lakes that she wont forgot.

Any ideas?

Dave

Re: Taking the wife out

Let me know how you get on. My missus had a bad experience similay to yours yeas ago. Mine still refuses to get on.

I wish it was something we could share.

However. whatever route you choose, in the lakes, its gonna be good, apart from that it's a bank holiday and the roads will be chocka.

Stay cool, ride safe, and congrats if your other half loves it.

Re: Taking the wife out

She’s been converted, hallelujah!!!!

Got up extra early and took a ride up to Kirkby Lonsdale for a coffee and a butty then a ride out past Kendal up the a591 to Keswick and back, the traffic wasn’t bad and the ride was one of the best I’ve had (that’s once her grip round from me went from bear hug to just a nice hold).

I put on a windscreen to try and deflect some of the wind, I know that must of probably helped, along with that I just took the ride extra easy to reassure her and had plenty of stops.

She’s now up for doing some big miles (babysitter pending) so happy days all round.

Re: Taking the wife out

Congrats! Mine is also facing her first (ever) ride later this summer (she wants to lose weight first, feels it will affect the ride)... so I know what it must have took to give her the confidence to jump on back.

Just be careful, she may find she likes it SO much, you might one day go out to the garage to find her and the bike gone!!

Well done!

Re: Taking the wife out

Nice one Dave

I took Anne out on the back of mine a few weeks ago and now she's taken her cbt, got her own 125cc bike and can't wait to take her direct access and get her own Harley.....that's if she doesn't nick my Buell off me

Hope you both have lots of fun

Kendo
