Hi there. I just joined the forum today. I finally managed to pass my bike test on Wednesday after four months of DSA palaver. I wish I'd taken it in the 70's when I last had bikes !!!!!

So now I am getting acquainted with my Sportster Custom. Hope to get out for a few rides before winter sets in. Hey could be too late, we got hail going through Dalton today – August ?

Hi Fitz, I joined last week, bought a 99 883 sportster, my first bike for about 28 years, I do have the full licence though.

It always rains for 6 weeks when I buy a bike so weather ismy fault.

Hi there Fitz, a big welcome from the Midlands from another Sporty rider and congrats on passing your test.

I only joined the Club earlier this year and so far have had a fab time and met loads of great peeps, and off tomorrow to the 60th Anniversary rally to meet a few more and prop up the bar!

Greetings from Penrith. Did the same as you and bought a bike this June after many years away (29!) from the bike scene. 3000 'safe' miles so far - mostly with either my wife of my 11 yr old son on the pillion. They both love it too. Did Hard Knott & Wrynose with him last week. I used to live in Dalton years ago and am an Ulverston lad born and bred. That coast road between Bardsea and Roa Island will be good for riding out I'll bet. Starting to think about small changes to the bike to personalise it now. Sadly winter approaches....

great that u have joined Fitz & got though the test after all the hassle, most of us have been to the national Rally this weekend at Walesby i bet there was nearly 1500 there ...fantastic time was had by all.

Will look forward to ride out with you & bilbo soon
