As I've never been and done this either, maybe we should go together. At least that way one of us gets to laugh like fook if the other cocks-up and runs off the road . Assuming the other doesn't follow of course, LMAO. That happens when people get transfixed by the bike in front going off road, they often end up following them! I guess if that happens at least each of us can cry on the others shoulder .

Let us know when your interested in doing this run, keep the numbers small....its really no problem for a sporty. Best bet is Langdale, Wall end, Wryrose, then Hardknott

Re: wrynose/hardknott on sportster and sundowner seat

Both passes are a real hoot,
you just got to watch out for some of the gimp car drivers.

Once I was following a car up Wrynose a few years back and just as I was about to take a steep, sharp right handed hairpin and the git in front stalled his car. I had to stop immediately unfortunately where I was positioned I could only get my left leg down.

Problem was there wasn't anything under my left foot apart from the steep crumbly slope beyond the road edge. Fookin' ell!. My left foot scrambled for purchase on something, ANYTHING. Christ I knew I couldn't drop the bike cos the incline was STEEP! and I'd have been taking the bits home in a crate.

Well I'm 5'8" and I finally found some solid ground about 3' lower than my frame rails. Problem was my right knee was up around my head, and I kid you not, my trapped right testical pulled most of the way down my right thigh which in the position I found myself was up by my neck!!! with a full dresser stretching the poor bloody thing it nearly popped

Oooh, brings bloody tears to my eye as I type
