Speed Traps

Lovely day yesterday. Got the bikes out. Trudi's first ride of the year, joined by Jo and Gary (nice new Fat Bob) and decided to go to Skeggy. Saw loads of bikes out of all descriptions and guess what else we saw. Yes loads of speed traps on the way. Do be careful. Around Boston does seem to be very popular.

Re: Speed Traps

Yes, took the XLCR out for a run over to Leeds yesterday, loads of mobile patrols out with the speed guns. Luckily I don't get much above 70 on the old girl anyway so I was OK, but there does seem to be a blitz on at the moment.

Re: Speed Traps

A46 just outside Warwick on the last flyover before the A45 turnoff there is a Police Transit van parked up taking snap shots. They stop there regularly during the week but this is the first weekend I have seen them there this year.

Its not the bike that doesn't like it over 70 Jim, its me! I get vibration white everything at anything above 70! The bike would do 120 if I'd let it!

Re: Speed Traps

Read my website , as I have commented that it is official that there WILL be a crackdown on bikes in Lincolnshire this year due to the high number of fatalities in 2007.
They will be using the usual marked speed traps but also unmarked cars and other means not mentioned.

Besides all the routes to Skeg are always awash with traps especially on sunny Sundays at half term.

Hmm! 120 on an Iron Head Sportster

Let me know when you plan to do this reckless thing and I'll bring my brush and a bucket to put the pieces in

Re: Speed Traps

If you're around Sleaford at any time, you might want to look out for the latest unmarked revenue generator - black 07 plate Audi estate car...
