Re: New Dealership?

good to see a number of the club down at the dealership tonight, I was chatting with a couple of the head guys who seemed quite interested in getting us involved in some more of their events - cadwell track days, advanced riding days etc - so watch this this space

star performance by our former treasurer who, always one for keeping a tight rein on the purse stings, only had enough fuel on board his victory to get to the dealership and then had to siphon some out a harley to enable him to get home

strangely someone in the club had had the foresight to send a load of copies of the 'quin down there as well - well done that man / woman

as to what X and Y were doing there, well I've been sworn to secrecy say no more !!

Did you ask if they'd donate a beefy clutch for a raffle?

Re: New Dealership?

We had a cracking ride there & going back too

Nice to see some of the usual suspects there.

Place looks okay I reckon and should do well.
Nice mixture of bikes on show considering there's no used ones in there yet from trade ins

Pleased nobody was watching me ( apart from Mr & Mrs Duck )try to swing me leg over the Buell Ullyses lol !!! Couldn't even get it seat height

That was after Anne just stepped on it & got both feet flat on the floor....where does she get those long legs from ?? Not that I'm complaining of course

Re: New Dealership?

who'ld have thought a dealership would want to know when we (hdrcgb) think would be the best date for their grand opening ?

but they do so any suggestions, bearing in mind next weekend is busy, the bank holiday is very busy and early September sees the launch of the new 2009 models

suggestions please as they seem to quite like us !

Re: New Dealership?

thinking about it Nick, it's the yorkshire custom show, beezumph and hunstanton and I think there's something else along those lines as well - possibly Skegness show - so a lot of other attractions

I'm thinking end of month as it would give them the opportunity to plug the new bikes launch the following week and I can't think of anything that's on that weekend cuz Os and Shipley are the week before.

I don't think they are even sure it's going to be a weekend thing or just a 1 day launch yet !

Re: New Dealership?

Anyone heading down to Lincs HD to see the new bikes, don't forget to take a hosepipe just in case don't worry about a bag for the free food as they have some behind the counter

Re: New Dealership?

don't know who was at the other dealerships, but Alf and I had a interesting chat with HD UK's No2 man, he was surprised to find that Alf had met Wille G in Brighton (back at the superrally in '84 when Harley brought the evo's over for us to look at)

good to see quite a few club members turn out despite the rain, one even buying a streetbob and getting a bundle of freebies in the process. don't tell your name ......

no sign of our man with his hose pipe and 2 litre coke bottle though !

Rumour has it that as Mel and Gem were on holiday from St Leger, Graham had to don a blonde wig, short skirt and a pair of fishnets ......

Re: New Dealership?

I have it on good authority that anyone wanting spares must ask for 'Margaret' and that 'Forrest Gump' is now helping Steve with sales
