Cheeky sod
I just want to let everyone know that I'm home and alive
I have pin and plate in my tibia, fibia and fema. Bruises that look like bloody rainbows and quite a big head injury but they have taken the stitches out now.
Thankyou so much everyone for all your kind messages in one form or another.
And a special thankyou to Spen and Julie for bringing me cakes (get well yourself Julie) And also to Rattie and to Nemo for bringing my handbag back from Morts, which was a sight to behold as he carried it through the ward
We had a lovely day out in Lincoln that afternoon and I had also met a few other members for the first time and it was a shame that it ended on such a bad note.
I have to make big decisions as to wether or not I ever ride again which is upsetting, because of the pins in my leg and previous breakages. Would be good to hear other peoples thoughts on this who have been told the same as me.
And just for future reference, I would NEVER hesitate in getting on the back of a bike with Mort again
And yes, I know I had a bad head injury, lol

Hi MIC

Sorry to hear of your accident and glad that you and Mort are recovering well.
I'm new here and don't know you but I have experienced a similar situation.
A long time ago I got knocked off my bike, I suffered multiple injuries the worst of which left me with a permanent disability affecting my left arm.
At the time friends and family assumed that I would never ride again and the powers that be deemed that I was unfit and took my licence. I thought otherwise, I proved that I could still ride safely, got my licence back and carried on where I left off. This was 40 years ago.

Now at that time I was in love with motorcycles, I was young, had no responsibilities and my whole life in front of me. Even so it took me quite a while before I could relax and enjoy my riding again. If the same thing happened today I think I would take it as a message from the universe and call it a day.

I think what I'm saying is that it's not a decision that can be arrived at with a check list of pros and cons or by listening to sage advice (so what am I doing ) It has to be your gut feeling, how badly you want it against what you have to lose and also how much anxiety it may cause to loved ones. If you do get back on your bike eventually everything will be back to normal, but don't expect it to be straight away.

Don't know if this helps, hope you both make a speedy recovery.

Thankyou for that Mawanian,
its good to hear other peoples opinions on this, and I know that ultimately the decision has to be mine but I still have a fair way to go before I decide.
