19th August ride to Hollycombe Steam Collection

I'm organising a ride out to Hollycombe Steam Collection (Hollycombe Working Steam Museum - A Great Family Fun Day Out in Hampshire) this Sunday, the 19th August. The weather forecast says "glorious" by the way!

We will meet at "Five at the Bridge" cafe in East Molesey/Hampton Court at 09:30 (or next door if it's busy); this meeting place is directly opposite Hampton Court train station. From there we will head south to Liphook, taking in Surrey lanes and countryside; we will not be using the A3 or any motorways going down at all.

The ride down should take about 90 mins and is 45 miles. Please remember to have filled up.

Once we get to our destination we will visit the Hollycombe Steam Collection. Entrance is £13 (£9 if you've retired). Once in all attractions are free. I anticipate up to two hours there will suffice. There is a decent restaurant there for lunch. When we're ready to leave we will discuss and agree whether to repeat the route, or take a different one (twisty or direct).

Great news, courtesy of Andre, is that this weekend there is a collection of military vehicles at Hollycombe too!

Andre also pointed out that better ticket pricing is available by pre-booking online.

Thanks to all who came yesteday, and made it a fabulous day out! We were so lucky with the weather, particularly when we arrived in Liphook and heard thunder!

I've posted photos on Facebook, in a public album so anyone can see without an account.

I know others were taking photos too, so feel free to share!

Andy

There will be one or two out there who would be hoping that the thompson sub machine gun I'm holding in the above picture would be loaded and the safety catch - OFF! LOL

Richard

Well done. Jolly good ride out, couldn't have wished for better weather. Almost too hot! Also great to see Will out and mixing it on his '45.
If you missed it, hard cheese, esp. 'red stripe' Ha.Ha.
