| I'm planning to do some m/c touring in the US, however the biggest bike I've ridden so far is my Suzuki 500E. Whilst it's great for round London I expect I'll need to hire something a bit bigger for cruising down the interstate (and probably you can only hire Harleys in the US anyway). What I'd like is to have some training on a Harley here first so I can see how I get on with it. Does anyone know anywhere reasonably near London that offers this? Lawrence |

| Re: HD training dare i mention Riders Edge on here. OK its not in London, and they are very loyal to the Brand, but aren't we? anyway check these guys out. You can have a day, a back to biking course, intermediate and advanced training and ride any Harley they have in a huge barn at the show ground. I love it there. Bit pricey though. | Re: HD training Of course you can mention Riders Edge they do a good job for those that want it. That went through my mind but he rides in London and has a 500cc already and just wants to get the feel. Not a course on riding and trying all the models. A day's hire should do him. Then maybe do Riders Edge if he wants to buy one. |

| Thanks a lot for the suggestions. I think might go for the Riders Edge training first as it's operated by Black Bear in Newmarket -- my mum live up there, so I could pay her a visit too. Lawrence |

| Re: HD training Hi Lawrence, Wherever it is (and I fear that BAZA is right - for the second time since I've known him! - and it is based in Wales) I would highly recommend Rider's Edge. It's Harley specific and everyone I've known to have attended has had nothing but good things to say about it. Re. hiring a bike in the States - it is a lot cheaper to hire a "foriegn" bike or a Harley clone rather than the real deal..................BUT for the extra dollars the experience would be so much better if done on Milwaukee's finest. Having toured extensively through the States on me own H-D I would highly recommended it - they are simply just made for US roads. I'm sure also that the reaction and welcome you will get from the natives when riding an H-D will far exceed any other bike. Cheers, Pyro

| Re: HD training Well it's always good to learn something new cheers for that. I just spoke to Black Bear and told them that they are not showing on the H-D riders edge website so they are going to get on to H-D. But they did say it was a pilot scheme. ![]() Hope you have a great experience mate. And after your holiday go get a Harley and join up with us again. Let us know how you get on please, Last edited by BaZa ®; 07-02-2008 at 04:36 PM. |
