Re: What is going o with London Region?

Albin - to sum it up, not a lot!

Its nice to go out with a group, but as Scottie says one can still enjoy a solitary ride if no others can to get out. Start when you like, stop where and when you want and get home when you want to.
Try it sometime.

Personally i'm less into rides and more into rallies/touring and i'm more flexible, having non-harley riding buddies and doing non-harley events, even on my harley, which lets be honest, is a no-no to a large number of club members. But I consider myself a BIKER first. Probably more than half of what i do is non-harley.
You makes yer choice.

But you can always take 'advantage' of other regions events, Coasters, South East and Central South (Baza will nick anybody in his unrelenting quest of cyberspace!) They often have a 'packed programme' of events if you are prepared to travel a little.

I myself this year alone have done a long w/e to nothern France with 3 County Borders, Finland Super Rally with some HDRCGB Nomads ( you know who you are) and the Dutch 'tCentrum rally with the East London (69ers). I've also attended a 3CB meet, a 69ers meet and Coasters north meet.

Don't be afraid to pop into other Region sites, intoduce yourself, most are very welcoming, you are after all a HDRCGBer, we're all one big club.

But to be honest Albin, shoulda joined at the start of the season, lots of harleys bein' tucked up warm for the winter. But there are it seems a few hardy souls out there.
See you at the next meet.

I do not have any clue what the 'Police System of Motorcycle Control' is... but always keen on improving my riding skills..
No worries Charles, you'll miss this Sundays ride (bring a boat apparently!!!) but the offer is open to any club members who are interested. Police system of motorcycle control is a simple check list to be applied at any hazard until it can be safely negociated. Sounds daft but it works, especially as you geta hazard every 50 feet in London on average! I've been riding it 20 years now and I rarely have a "bloody hell" moment. It takes a fair while for it to become instinctive, during which your ride speed may drop off a bit but when it's instictive the speed comes back (plus some more if you fancy) but with less "pants" moments.

I ride to have fun in the main and at times I like to ride fast but then I also want to be riding tomorrow.

Re: What is going o with London Region?

Hi all,
as I am a london region member, I do not get much chance to do a ride out with the others but to busy in sending tools out to club members, but a few of us do get some lads and lasses and go bowling on a saturday night and a curry afterwards, great fun had by all, as jobs always win, so if anybody is up for some more bowling fun then let me know.OK.
cheers Tool man..

Re: What is going o with London Region?

Andy - me and Barb will be up for your Bowling Night when so arranged - we can't let Jobs keep winning.

All, tomorrow night is the regular Harley meet at the pub opposite Warr's - I gonna try to make this one but I do have an official City of London lunch function beforehand............... so may be on the train!

Finally, if there's one ride you need to do it's the C&F ride from Warr's this Sunday (See below from Warr's website) :-

Remembrance Sunday – November 8th
We will remember them whatever the weather. From adversity comes strength and after all it’s only rain/snow/cold. Plenty of muck, but definitely no bullets!
Meet at Warr’s Kings Rd dealership at 9.00am for coffee and a pre-ride briefing.
There will be a two minute silence at 11.00hrs wherever we are and a coffee stop along the way with a chance to meet some old friends. We arrive at the Memorial for around noon. After a wreath laying ceremony it’s off to a fine local hostelry for a first class Sunday roast (with a vegetarian option and a quick bite choice for those in a rush).
This will be a ride suitable for all, but please bear in mind the time of year and dress accordingly, especially if bringing a pillion.

Cheers,

Pyro
