Those 'nice people' at Sycamore HD

Just thought you'de like to know how those 'nice' people of Sycamore HD treat us 'real Bikers' from the HDRC!
Following their 'Custom Show Weekend', they proceeded to remove and destroy our great 'Proffesionally printed' poster advertising OUR custom show, after I had asked specifically if we could leave the poster in a prominent position next to the coffee machine and had been told that I could (by Dan), and also removed any other posters left in the 'HOG' lounge that I had also left advertising our Rally.
I discovered this on the Monday following the weekend and when I asked Andrew (The dealer Principal) where the posters had gone, he shrugged his shoulders and said "In the bin"!
When I asked why they had been removed after I had asked to leave them, He said "Well, you didn't ask me!!" and went on so say that, "Well, we let you have a stand over the weekend, but now the show is over the posters come down!"
When I argued that it was advertising our show that was not until May and as our local dealership, thought they would want to support us, Andrews attitude was that they clearly couldn't care less! They'd 'allowed us' to put on a stand and for that really we should be grateful!!
I sated that the HOG Rally adverts etc were still on full display, and that it is clearly one rule for the HOG and one rule for us The Harley Riders Club , even though we are all customers the same!! - Clearly not! - well, we know where their allegiance lies, but I guess we all knew that anyway.
So, from now on, I shall show my allegiance elsewhere too, and will no longer spend a single penny over the counter of Sycamore HD. I leave you to make up your own mind on the matter - the choice is yours, and on a final note - Thank God I ride with the 'Real' ones!!!

saw how much work was put into the show at Sycamore by the HDRCGB. I have read your comments and you have my full support. Will go elsewhere too .

fuckem there's a new dealers opening in Lincoln soon - even St Ledger are happy for us to put up a party leaflet in their hog slob lounge

Write them a letter of complant clearly stating how many people from this forum will not be spending their money over there and how their image in the UK has been tarnished. You never know what you might get out of doing this.

Slagging them off on the forum is not going to endear future relationships with the dealers, no doubt what ever is said here filters back to them

It is a lot easier to vote with your wallet and spend your money on parts and accessories elsewhere

HOG is part of their marketing plan, we obviously are not, possibly a bit short sighted on their part

so what else is new? H-D have been actively discriminating against non-franchised organisations for many years. So do most other companies, come to that, it's just that H-D tend to be a bit more blatant than most.

not sure when but it will be operated by Advantage cars - the ones who own the citroen, mazda and seat garage on Triton Road. The boss man there has a Road Queen and the Harley knobs from HDHQ have been down a number of times on a regular basis. Plans have been agreed and Seat are being shoved to the rear of the buildings.

We were gutted when we heard what had been done to our attempt at promoting our event, we thought that finally we had found support for the HDRCGB from a dealership!

I even wrote a 'thank you' letter to the dealer principal thanking him for his hospitality over the weekend!! (before I got to hear about the removal of fliers etc).

We as a region have spent our 'hard earned' at Sycamore in the past and would have expected better treatment as customers and fellow Harley Riders, there are at least 6 Harley's in our region that came from there with one at the moment still in the showroom that should have been in Simon's possesion weeks ago but is still not ready (second bike offered as the original one purchased got test ridden in the salt and was left to rot - literally!

A previous post mentioned that slagging off is not good on here, well if its true then why not!

I would welcome a response on here from the dealership but I very much doubt if anyone bothers to take an interest in us on this vast potential customer base that is the HDRCGB website!!
