Classics on the Common 2012 - Wednesday 25th July

Anyone interested in this:

Classics on the Common

Starts at 2pm, entry is FREE

Quote from the web site:

"Once a year Harpenden Common, that calm, sweeping tract of common land, that Jewel in the town's crown, comes alive for half a day with 1200 classic cars and other four-wheelers, plus 250 motor cycles and scooters. There you'll find a Chevy Bel Air rubbing shoulders with a 1927 Trojan, and a rare 1978 Mantra Bagheera with a '59 Berliet. Plus 10,000 admiring spectators. Little wonder Classics on the Common, already Britain's biggest mid-week classic car meeting, now ranks among the top events of the classics calendar."

Sadly, I can no longer make this as my brother was knocked off his bike yesterday evening by a road rage VOLVO driver , so my afternoon has been spent visiting him at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Portsmouth

Re: Classics on the Common 2012 - Wednesday 25th July

Thanks guys for the thoughts,

He's fine, although he suffered a dislocated left wrist which had to have surgery to put it back and wire it into position. Currently sitting it out waiting for the swelling to go down before they can stitch it back up as his hand and arm are gigantic at the moment.

He has no idea who stopped as was semi-conceous at the time so we await and see from the Police if the driver involved stopped or if there were any witnesses as somebody called for the Ambulance.

He did have some good news on the newly purchased Hyabussa though...... apparently the headlight was still working

Back down later to see how he is prior to the next operation scheduled for tomorrow.
