Re: Single seat for sportster

Nice ride, I'd be tempted to go and buy it back off him.

Check out the above website, some interesting looking solos... I quite like the sprung seat, I'm trying to make mine sort of retro....

My solo has an anchor point in the centre of the seat, you sort of have to half bend the seat to locate onto a sort of pin/spigot.
What year is yours...

I think my seat is the same as Tiz's//

I didn't want to read that Brigger, mines only located with the forward tongue into the frame and the screw on the back. There's no visible central anchor point unless it's hidden under the fabric (which would be odd). Mines a 1200L on a 56 plate. I double checked the part number for the seat and it's correct for that year.
Any thoughts?

Dont worry bud should be fine. Welcome to the new forest section, take it from your name that you are local - come along to the pub meets and say hello and see if you want to join the club .

Must be designed for the job.. as long as it doesnt slide from side to side and is pretty secure... dont worry...

Its odd how sportsters differ in such much in basic detail...

Still they are blank canvas...

Thanks patrick, I might just do that. I'll keep my eyes peeled for where you meet up. I'm near the Fareham area.

The nature in which it fits seems pretty secure. it doesn't slide side to side because it's got constant pressure up against the frame going forward when your sat on it. I'm going to dock gate 20 on Saturday, so will probably ask the experts there. I'm sure it's ok though. I personally think it's a good mod to the bike. Cheers Brigger.

Re: Single seat for sportster

I had a brawler seat on my 1200C but it slid about unless the nut was very tight and it was very uncomfortable over long distances. I had different foam put in which made it better but went back to the double seat for really long trips. It did look stunning though. Got the sundowner solo on my wideglide which is really comfortable.
