Single seat for sportster

I've just recently fitted the Brawler solo seat to my 1200L Sportster. Has anyone else done the same and what are your opinions?

Btw, what do you reckon?

Not the most comfortable ... but not too bad... Your Sporty looks cool though...

Re: Single seat for sportster

I found that the seat position was altered slightly down and slightly forward, only talking of a smidgen but enough to alter the handling (for the better in my case). I'm not sure how comfortable the seat would be on a tour or long trip. The longest I've done so far is about 65 in one hit and must say I was glad to get off to give my rear a break.

I've got mid pegs at the moment but thinking of going for forward controls in time. Maybe that might make it a bit easier on the ass.

Edit; By the way brigger; cool looking machine mate.

Had mine since August 2007, done 16500... commute to North Wales 2/3weekends out of 4. Only stopping for petrol so it can be a bit uncomfortable.

I am still looking for a better seat... There is one company who make seats out of this foam which mold to your backside..

Thanks for the compliment on my sportsters, Region 17, think it looks like something from close encounter.... too many lights. My Answer to that is 'Welsh Weather'...!!

Must admit it does look similar. It has a specific part number for the type / year.
I was surprised at the minimal fixing for the solo seat, unlike the dual seat which has a central key to anchor on to the frame. Probably incorporated for pillion safety.

Custom Solo Harley Davidson seat - Leather Classic Seats -* Thin Bar Hoppers

Check out the above website, some interesting looking solos... I quite like the sprung seat, I'm trying to make mine sort of retro....

My solo has an anchor point in the centre of the seat, you sort of have to half bend the seat to locate onto a sort of pin/spigot.

What year is yours...

I think my seat is the same as Tiz's//
