Re: Netley Marsh Spring Auto Jumble Cancelled

sadly it was always on the cards, the annual sept autojumble had worked fine for years, then mortons media group took over the running, in my opinion got greedy and organised the extra event in may

the last two, have been virtually washed out, which resulted in low attendances.

there was never the demand for this event at that time of the year.

i expect the september autojumble will in due course ,suffer a similar fate

the traders that cliff & i chatted to in september all had the same complaints as us.

pitch costs too high, the size of trade pitches reduced.(could not even fit a van at the back of pitch)

increase in entrance costs to buyers, and less to see once they got in, also the stalls were all crammed further up the field, adding to the low key feel.

because of this a lot of traders were saying last september, that would be there last netley.

by the time you factor in fuel costs in a heavily loaded van, the prohibitive costs to attend, and food and drink, its just not worth it, for small businesses in a time of recession.

i got rang up twice, by the organisers of the spring autojumble, so i knew they were obviously struggling to generate interest.

hopefully i may be proved wrong, about septembers event..............watch this space!

Re: Netley Marsh Spring Auto Jumble Cancelled

Having gone to the spring autojumble lat year gotta say Im not surprised ...........as it was sh*t .

It was really quiet, not may stall holders or many people buying, not alot there and what was there I thought was pretty pricey and my mate fell of his old Suzuki kettle on the way ....... he forgot to put it on the stand when he got off ............ obviously tried not to p*ss my self to hard

In fact the only good thing about the entire day was a couple of pints in the red shoot on the way home
