On the transport direct route planner it says, the non motorway way is 214 miles, taking 5 hrs 24 mins at car speeds.

Taking your bets what time we will get there leaving at 7am....

We're going this way; A3057, A27,A3090, A30, A34, A41, A4421, A431, A413, A422, A508, A45, A605, A1, A6075, B6387.

I drive / ride upto Hull regularly and over the years and as it can be a really boring journey so have jazzed it up a bit when going on the bike to make it a bit more of a laugh going door to door not touching motorways and to be honest its a better ride and not that much longer

Best way Ive found froom down here to up that way would be ...........

A34

Just before the M40 take the B430 (towards Middleton stoney) this takes you up the back way to M40 junc 10 / A43

A43 to Northampton

Follow the A43 round the ring road around Northampton then keep on it and follow it all the way untill it joins the A1 (really nice road the other side of Northampton)

Up the A1 for a bit .............. you could then pick up the A616 at Newark

Bit more of a straightforward route

"20 Minutes"!

You expect us to go a whole 20 minutes without stopping for a smoke!

More like 15 minutes riding then 15 Minutes smoking and repeat until destination reached...Somewhen on Saturday

Might be up for that....assuming I can get off this f#*#ing boat!!

Had a fun evening last Monday when we had an engine room fire whilst working alongside a drilling rig!
Fortunately we put it out & nobody was hurt.

Oh the joys of command!!!
