Re: walesby -summing up

Good to see so many Foresters at the rally, made it all worthwhile. Really enjoyed myself (a bit too much on the oh so lovely Mordue ) on each night but at least it made me sleep in that friggin tent just about bearable

Never cooked so much for myself outdoors before, its amazing what camp-out grub you can find in Tesco's on a Sunday nowadays . That roast chicken picnic lunch-out with Di and Postie was most pleasant and thanks to Wally for use of the table - very sophisticated.

All in all a bloody good do.

See you on the next one.

Re: walesby -summing up

Great Rally shame about the food, we went out for lunch in taxi's for the 3 days and found three lovley pretty little villages with excellent food in the pubs, a big hand for the Sussex Coasters Hostlity Tent fantastic as usual and great company, a big hand also to all the organisers, one gripe though, there were no hand towels or hand dryers in the ladies loos, so had to resort to loo paper to dry your hands, maybe hand sanitizer containers would be a good idea, quick and easy.

Well done everybody

Talking Re: walesby -summing up

Considering it was my first rally I had a bloody good time. Thought it was well organized and the band "LAF" were excellent. What have I learnt, I need a bigger tent, more rack space and some cooking gear for breakfast. I blame Mark Bursledon for my small tent......He reckoned pack small!

Re: walesby -summing up

After deciding that we were not going and being so disappointed, Postie and me made the decision on Sat morning at 8.30am, not in the slightest bit ready, to go ..... a lovely way to spend our anniversary.

We both really enjoyed ourselves and would like to thank those involved for all the unseen hard work in making it a great success.

The funniest moments:

1. We heard much laughter in Rapid Ron's tent in the rain and found little Wal and Andy 1200 on Rapid's bed getting told off for dropping crumbs on his bed.... also Mad Mary and Crazy Carol saying they needed to go to the loo but were put off by the rain and eventually toddling off to the loo several hours later. There were 9 of us in Rapid's tent in the end and Tiz like a pixie directly opposite in his tent, such a laugh.

2. On the way home, we were both desperate for a pee (strange how in the Northern parts there seem to be no services or fuel stops when you need them), we stopped in a layby. Postie pointed to a huge hedge with woods behind it and said, "You'll be safe down there, there's no one about, I'll keep watch". Off I went in the bush (I haven't done that since I was a little girl travelling with my parents!) Then I heard a Harley. Postie said, "A Harley's pulling in", "Um, it's Patrick". After a bit of a scream, I couldn't get my pants up quick enough!

The most frustrating moments:

Ok any northerners out there.... can you please help us? We bumped into Bill and Judy on the way back in an American diner on the Northampton ring road ... (they'd eaten their meal, by the way, and were just about to leave). Then, we went past that f**king diner about 6 times trying to find the A43 non motorway bit sign posted to Oxford. It DOES NOT exist. It's on the map, but it ain't there. (The bit near where the M1 has two junction 15s, Junct 15 and Junct 15a.) Postie was suicidal when I said "Shall we go back to Northampton and go a different way darling?". He muttered something like "No, not going that way, we'll get even more lost cus I'll lose you", so, rather than have a divorce after 24 years and 2 days, I went on the motorway for one mile (sorry officer). Postie had the same trouble when he was lorry driving years ago on that bit too.

Good to see everyone, a memorable weekend, we're so glad we went.

Oh, Bob, Alan said I did 55mph,60mph most of the way

Come on, Sabine, your turn next....

Di
