Not to worry Judy. Saw Bill at the Cricketers today and he explained that his Tom Tom took him the right way WITHOUT motorways. He said you went through a little village cus the Sat Nav told you to but couldn't remember which one it was. Seeing as the females are the most intelligent species, Judy and I've been studying the map, can you remember whether it might have been the village of Blisworth? This would make sense as it goes back onto the A43 quite easily.

Oh, um it took us 8.5 hrs to get home but we did stop lots and lots and also at the canal at Newbury and had an icecream. Reckon we could've done it in 7 hrs if not stopped so much and got lost.

Thank for the info 45 Brit. We hadn't gone quite as mad as we thought we had.

Di

Re: walesby -summing up

Hi Di - can't remember what the village was called - but just did a route planner for Grantham to Kettering selecting shortest not quickest route and it shows coming off the A1 onto A16 which connects onto the A43 - not touching motorway at all. I don't have a road atlas here at the moment but will try and find the way we went when I find the map.

Anyway, you made it back which is the main thing.........

See you soon - Jude
