Fatboy Wheel Trims

I mentioned these a while ago in a wheel polishing thread....

I got sick of trying to polish my Fatboy wheels to keep on top of Salt and brake dust corrosion and I'm not sure chrome on alloy wheels is a good idea in our climate.

I came accross these trims - chrome on stainless, good quality, I like the look and they worked out at about 90 quid per wheel.

I bought direct from tech trim and they were a pleasure to deal with - any of you who sell parts might want to talk to them about UK dealership !

Re: Fatboy Wheel Trims

Look nice, and chrome on stainless has to be good.
One concern I'd have is what's to stop all the salt and crud getting underneath the trim, and corroding the wheel underneath?
Is there some kind of seal between the perimeter and the wheel rim?

Re: Fatboy Wheel Trims

They come with a tube of adhesive/sealant and a gun, seems heavy duty stuff.

The instructions are to run a bead around the rim, hub and valve as well as a bead in the centre section to act as adhesive.

They are pretty heavy gauge stainless but I think they will be a pig to get back off without damaging the trim.

Re: Fatboy Wheel Trims

Sounds like they've got it covered then (no pun intended!).

Re: Fatboy Wheel Trims

Use silicone sealant,it works better than the glue supplied, and it makes life easier when you decide to remove the covers.
