Hi

I am from Suffolk and after years of riding all sorts I have finally bought a Harley. Its a 2004 model Low Rider and since Saturday when I picked her up I have fitted forward controls and am in the process of replacing the bars.
My bikes have included since 1975
KTM Komet Cross
Lambretta GP150
Vespa Rally 200
Suzuki GT 250
Fireblade
Ducati 996
R1
2 no Hayabusas
Honda XR dirt bike
Varadero
XJR 1300
I test rode a Triumph Rocket III and the Harley, and the Low Rider won hands down. So much soul.

Re: Hi

Welcome, Trevor. You're in the Anglia region, but depending on where you are in Suffolk, there's also a couple of Essex meets within easy striking distance. The Halesworth, Stratford St Mary, and Colchester meets are all shown on the meets page. If you're all the way over near Newmarket or Mildenhall, you could get over to the Peterborough meet too.

Many of us do rallies, but there's plenty of other stuff going on. If you PM Wiggy, the Anglian assistant rep for your area, he'll add you to the text list, and Paul (PMK) can add you to the email list.

If you're only just over the border, Steve the Greek's the Essex rep, and he can help you out with the stuff they're doing.

There's a camping weekender at Heacham in a couple of weeks, and the Club's big rally is at Mersea Island early in September, being hosted by Essex at their Poker Run.

See you in a muddy field, maybe.

Baff

Re: Hi

Hi guys, thanks for the warm welcome.
I am in Ipswich so I guess the Essex mob will be nearer to me so I will contact them in due course.
Forgot to mention I had a ZZR1100 to with 750 carb adaption which went like stink. An old winter hack but a fast and most comfortable ride. Out of all the bikes, even though new, I wish I had kept that old girl.
The Varadero was a shed to look at and not as comfortable as you would imagine. I tried to bond but all I got was a numb bum and comments about what an ugly bike it was. I think the later models were a big improvement but outclassed and outgunned by my mates VStrom and Tiger.
