Cool Heres Fluffy !

Afternoon All !

My Names Dave (Call me Fluffy, but dont ask why, its a long story and not a very intresting one), and I am ordering my new Harley in 2 weeks time when I come back of my jollys (sunny prague!)

Been a biker since I was about 18 (24 now) was big into sports bikes but after my last GSXR600 not had a bike for the last 2 years

A few freinds and someone at work convinced me to have a look at Harleys and I went for a test drive on a sporter 883 at Eddy Wrights in leeds and fell in love, so going to order one soon and become a proper biker again !

Now that thats out of the way ... was thinking of ordering a Harley from Eddy Wrights Leeds, but as I said, never had a harley before, so no experience of dealers .. what are they like ? Good after sales services ?

Re: Heres Fluffy !

Hi Fluffy welcome to the site. There are a few Sportys out there at the moment so push for a good deal. If you ask about Eddies in the Yorkshire region section of the site you should get a bit more response local that is.

click on Yorkshire below.

Re: Heres Fluffy !

Hey Fluffy;

Welcome to the best H-D site in the world. You'll get better advice on Harleys here than you will find anywhere else, so give the people a good ear.

When you get your bike, be sure to join the club - you'll be glad you did.

My initial advice is to take your time in ordering the bike. Check around for the best deal you can get, and be sure to check out the buys you might get with a used bike. Use the resources and advice of the people on this forum as an additional check on your progress. You may want to drop in on the next meeting of the regional group nearest you (Yorkshire, it appears) before you make the purchase.

Re: Heres Fluffy !

great to see someone in their 20s **looking like** they may join the HDRCGB. Welcome mate. Please join the club - your social life will then be revolutionised! And the Yorkshire HDRCGB folk are very friendly.

And in case you don't yet know (and there is no reason why you should) we are *NOT* HOG and some of us reckon there is a world of difference. Seek and ye shall find!

Re: Heres Fluffy !

Eh Up fluffy,

Tones here from Guiseley.

Eddy's are OK, but like most dealers, they want your cash. The guys in the spares dept and the servicing are all OK but when all said and done, you are still going to pay high prices, that comes with the Harley Tag. I'm getting mine serviced there whilst still under warranty but I'v also invested £80 with the official Harley Service and electrical manuals for later use.

When you get the machine put a post on and if I'm in Leeds (work away a lot) we can meet up. Also the Yorkshire section meet up on the first Tuesday of the month at The Hunters which is about a mile out of Pool in Wharfedale on the pool - Harrogate Road, starts at 8.

Don't normally do the Sherburn thing. Used to do it years ago but find that as my riding gear doesn't match the bike paintwork I'm a little below the Sherburn level. Plus too many thinking that my exhaust may be a little loud - - - so don'y wanna be pulled.
Good run or two is up to devils bridge at Kirby in Lonsdale or up to Hawes, I've friends there, so the tea's pretty good

Keep posting and we'll meet up. Don't forget the Yorkie monthly meet.

Cheers Tones
