Hello!!!!

Just joined the forum after the purchase of my first "big bike", a Sportster 883. I'm very new to 2 wheels but I have taken to it like a duck to water. I just wish I'd started riding years ago.

Mostly a friendly lot here, despite cross-dressing, shirt-lifting and the like. Keep an eye out for HOWDOO, as their rules and regulations are rather restrictive. The Road Pirates can be expected to afford you a special welcoming! Then, of course, there's BaZa - but we won't get into that! ;)

As USA Bear has said there are many differing groups on here but they've all got a couple of things in common. they love their bikes and they love a craic so make yourself known at a rally or meeting.

I guess you are listing various chapters? At this point I'm not looking to join one though I may start with the local HOG chapter at my dealer. Don't worry, I know it's just a sales tool for HD but it's a place to start.

Yes, I get it now, after a little digging I found a few threads about the whole HOG vs HDRCGB thing. I have not yet joined either club though I think I will do in the near future. Since my 883 was second hand, it did not come with automatic HOG membership so I'm still free to choose.

Dont take any notice of USABear...he may be a road pirate, but he constantly volunteers to "go in the barrel" and has been known to bribe people to take their turns;) Hence the special welcoming he has offered you ...and he rides a V-Rod.

there are many members who are HOG as well as HDRCGB. your choice, but in case you dont know, Hog WILLTAKE YOUR MONEY TO JOIN, AND THEN CHARGE YOU TO JOIN A LOCAL CHAPTER. HDRCGB MEMBERSHIP ENTITLES YOU TO JOIN ANY REGION YOU WISH F.O.C.
They are a good lot here.
