| Hello from the Highlands
Hi all, Sportster owner here from deep in the Scottish Highlands. Been riding since I was 16, which was a long time ago! The Sportster is my first Harley, Black 883C with the usual stage 1 Mods ( SE AC/CS slash cuts/Dynajet kit and Dynoed) Other mods include Laydown plate, smoked lenses, Smoked LED taillight, reflectors stripped off, single seat. About to get done, New bars, Kuryakyn mirrors, ISO Pegs and Grips. Winter projects are 1200 wiseco or 1250 NHRS kit, braided hoses, progressive shocks and strip as much wieght off the bike as I can! Buying this is one of the best things I have ever done, travelled more miles on this than I have on any bike in years. Love the thing with a passion. As do the family, daughter has insisted I keep it and pass it on to her! Been to a few rallies, toured the West of Scotland and the Islands and next year hoping to go to a few more a bit farther afiield. No desire to change or move up to anything bigger yet, love the way it handles and can't wait to get the bigger kit fitted. Oh and a wee story about my Avatar, I was touring the Island of Tiree, on the 2nd day just as I was getting ready to set off the neighbouring farmer stopped by, after the "Noo, thats a michty fancy bike y hiv there Son" ( "Son" sounded great! since I aint a million miles away from 50!) "Did ye ken Charlie's awa the noo?" he continued... Now I was lost, had I wondered into some parallel universe? Who the Hell was Charlie? As it turns out Charlie was the local Policeman, and he was on the mainland for 2 days at a court case! "So" says the Farmer (whose name turned out to be Angus, and a really decent guy) "Ye winnae hae to wear yon Hat o yours" 2 days of glorious sunshine, great roads, no traffic and no lid! It was wonderful... Thanks Angus! Pic of Tiree, while I was there... ![]() Empty beaches, Golden sands oh and the Obligatory sheep! Anyway, thats a wee bit about me and the bike. Thanks for listening... Bill. Last edited by kiltbill; 03-10-2006 at 11:03 AM. |
