Hi everyone, just joined recently. I've just bought a nice 2005 1200 sportster r, reads miles in km's though, not sure why? Its got the all inportant stage 1 and screaming eagles. 6000 miles, full service history, harley alarm. £4,050 delivered to the door, hows that, winter bargain or what eh?

Don't know if this works on sporties, but it certainly does on an 05 twin cam
1 ignition on
2 press rubber button on speedo to switch between trip and total odometer
3 when showing total miles (or in your case kms) press the button and hold for about 4-5 secs

The reading should change from kms to miles (or vice versa)

For some reason this is not mentioned in the owners manual
