Booze info wanted about holidays

Hi there Region 3 peoples,

Me and the missus are coming down your way for the last fortnight this month.
We will be staying at the White Water Caravan Club Site in Stockton-on-Tees.
What we want to know is, are there any good pubs within walking distance.
I know there is a Beefeater type of pub next to the site, but the thought of drinking there for 2 weeks fills me with dread.
Any info would be appreciated.

Cheers,
Graeme

Hi Graeme, I think your going to be pretty dry for those two weeks, the Middlesbrough area is a real ale dessert, we have one account in the entire area !
The good beer guide only lists the Star (ts1 3bx), if you can get to travel, there a plenty of good pubs in North Yorks.

The other option would be to buy a poly pin (36 pints) of proper beer from a local brewery

Hi Graeme

Can't advise on any decent pubs in Stockton but you'd be very welcome to come along to our monthly meeting in Darlington, at the Railway Tavern on Weds 27 June.

Re: Booze info wanted about holidays

The Sun Inn does an excellent pint of hand pulled Bass, the Green Dragon a Sam Smiths Pub does some good beer, there is also a whitherspoon pub on the High Street. And there are a few other pubs on the the high Street worth a try.

You must also hav a visit to Yarm, About 5 miles, the Black Bull and the George are worth a vistit also nice for a bit of retail therapy for the good lady, this is a great area to visit and ive heard good reports about the camping site

Thanks all.
Yes will try to get to your meeting. Will also be going to Newcastle area so should make it to Mordueman's Brewery. Will look at Google maps before we go and look out for other pubs mentioned.

Thanks again,

+ 1 for the sun inn, also the Stags head just off the high street used to be good.

Thumbs up Re: Booze info wanted about holidays

Green Dragon has been excellent so far. Good beer at a good price for a tight Jock. Locals are friendly too.

Re: Booze info wanted about holidays

Just had Graeme (McDuffman) and his good lady visit the brewery today, very nice to meet them it was, they bought some beer, shame I couldn't show them around, but we didn't have enough snorkels to go around
