Re: Just Harleys

Hope Alice still has a job!

What does this mean for the customers, Mick??

Or is it just a franchise/moneymen shuffle.....

Re: Just Harleys

That's a shame they were one of only a very few aftermarket dealers that ever got a factory franchise.

Re: Just Harleys

Yeah, be careful, there are bargains to be had if there's a sale but having worked at three dealerships they are all pretty much f****d when dealing with people with 'proper' bikes....no sour grapes...really...just disillusioned!!

Re: Just Harleys

I'm not sure, but you *might* be a bit out of date there Steve.

The original Just Harleys was on an industrial estate in Morpeth, was originally a custom shop, and yeah, it was sound. A greasy motorcycle emporium.

Then 7-8 years ago came the dealership franchise and a move to Newcastle city centre. The original owners soon bailed.

This is the third lot of owners, *I think*

Am sure someone will correct me.

To be fair, club vet Alice now runs the parts counter and that side of the biz has always struck me as impressive.

They shut the cappuccino bar last year and that upset some of the H*****s!

Re: Just Harleys

Yeah you are right Dave, I’d forgoted that and they had changed hands a few times before.
We got some leather saddle bags made through them in the pre Factory dealer days, fantastic workmanship.
The only problem I had with them was the language barrier..... They spoke Geordie, I didn't!

Soon all the dealers will be owned by just a few big motoring groups, who are not that interested in bikes just sales, shame.

Re: Just Harleys

Yes they shut the cafe last year. You could go on a Saturday & there would be 60 bikes outside. Plenty of crack over a cuppa. Good meeting point for ride outs. Once they shut the cafe they lost most of their impromptu buy customers. It's been like a ghost town over the winter. I've only been twice in the last 6 months. Once for the toy run & once for a sale. (Got some 204 cams cheap fer the wifes Dyna). They still seem to be selling plenty of bikes though.

The very same place that I got my first 'real' Harley.

Re: Just Harleys

well the St Ledger lot are our local dealership. have bought bikes from them in the past, pretty much the same as any other dealership. dont suppose it will make a huge difference to the service and bargains you get now at just harleys.
