Just a thought... Is there a regular club ride?

As I was out playin on my Softail this morn and being totally amazed at what a difference the 4" Extended Forwards I've just fitted make, I had a thought. It is unusual I'll admit and it did hurt a bit but I persisted...
There was a few teams of Jap boys (and no doubt lasses) out and about and I thought (hurt more) where's the Harley folk?
Perhaps I should have put up a thread saying that I was going out for a blat but I just finished fitting the forwards and I figured I'd test them out before the pish came down, which it is now.
Then I thought some more... (Owwwwww!)
It's probably still early for folk to get out and about coz' it was a bit brass monkeys but it was dry. (It was great being out and back on a Harley...Aahh the simple pleasures of life).
Anyway, since I'm new to the area I don't know who hangs out with who and who doesn't (and why), where the best places to go for a breakfast or a coffee of a Sunday morn are and I don't know that many folk down here I figured that it might be an idea to get something organised for the season if there's any interest.
By that I mean;
Folk meeting up at a given spot (I don't know where coz I keep getting lost down here!!!) and going somewhere that's posted (here?) in advance?
Hopefully it would never be like a Factory Owners Group run. That is NOT meant to be derogatory, I just don't like the regimentation of their scene and the like.
I don't know if that's something you already have going here and I'm just shooting my bolt too early (always a problem...)

If anybody's got any thoughts that it might be a good idea or just to say "Oi Jim/Olias shut it ya' plank coz' we do that anyway, just not yet. Drop a line back. If there are already posts about this somewhere else on this forum I didn't see them them.

If nobaody fancies it that's no hassle. I think somebody posted something about presenting a united front for the rallys etc so am I getting the vibe that there isn't a regular meet of HDRCGB dudes and dudettes.
As I said... Just a thought...

I think there was a club meet in Darlington last Wednesday but a lad was picking up my old 1200 Bandit from me that I had for sale so didn't make it. I will make the next...last Wed of the month.. yeah? Any chance of a postcode for the pub where the meet is and I can get directions off Multimap!
Apologies for the length of my drolling on.

Cheers Rich. Appreciate the info. I'll post as and when. I'm in Gosforth, Newcastle and I guess pretty well placed for getting to mosty bits of the North East easily enough.
Good luck with the testing bit. I just got mine done through Twin Cities in Jarrow and although the MOT tester's deaf, he's a good lad!

Re: Just a thought... Is there a regular club ride?

as most of you live a ways south of me....

I am at home in Whitley Bay Friday, Saturday, Sunday til 2pm.

Fixing rocker box gasket and foot clutch rod linkage and then hopefully taking a wee spin.

If anybody wants to ride north and meet, or come to mine for a cuppa, or pop round the pub... ping me here or text me.

I note also that the Newcastle Beer Festival is on in the Toon....any real ale fans wanna take a trip there? You can park bikes at mine!! Might even let ya kip here.....

Re: Just a thought... Is there a regular club ride?

there are 3 of us in killingworth who are out and about quite a bit, also if you are into all things petrol there is a gathering at the Mac D at the Metro centre every 2nd Wednesday, more American muscle cars and VW's than Bikes but I guesss we could change that, I know that us Killi lads, and one chep from Tynemouth on his Buel will be there. It is a regular event through the summer and an excuse for a pootle out....some canny machines turn out.
