Friday departure for me.............but the earlier the better on a Bank Hol Friday bearing in mind the whole Manchester M6 rush-hour thing which i am frankly allergic too........

Manchester lads would aim for the back roads eg.A49 and the like. Quiet and freeflowing.

Thats the way I go. From from just off the East Lancs (A 580), onto the A49,its a couple of miles off J23 of the M6. Along it to and through Warrington, then on down to Whitchurch, on to the A495 then along to Oswestry. Alternatively, you can carry on down the M6 until the junction for the M56, branch off onto this and along to J10 then off on to the A49.
