Sponsorship for the Great North Air Ambulance

Hi,
I realise that not many of you know me yet, as I only joined in September but have ridden bikes for 33 years. I've attended the last two meetings and last weekend's (cancelled) Durham Police Easter Egg Run.
In June, I am taking part in 3 sponsored rides, one around the whole of the UK, one around the whole North of England and a shorter one over 125 miles for classic bikes (but open to non-classics). This represents a total distance of some 3,600 miles that I plan to do in a week from 14th to 20th June.
I am looking for sponsorship from all quarters, whether personal or corporate.
I don't like asking face to face as people find it hard to refuse and I feel that it's not fair on them - if anybody is interested, let me know through these pages and we can touch base somewhere to sort out the details.
So far I have £1230 pledged but would like to get this a lot higher.Regards
Mike Wilkinson

Re: Sponsorship for the Great North Air Ambulance

I'll plug your ride up at our region meet Tuesday night - you've got my mobile number for emergencies - I'll see if we can sort out a decent stop for you in Skeggy. Feel free to drop in when you're down at St Leger (or should it be Harrogate Harley Davidson )

Re: Sponsorship for the Great North Air Ambulance

nice idea and good luck.

4 or 5 years ago the North East Region had a ride out to a village fayre where one of the GNAA choppers landed. We handed over a cheque from our rally profits. Ask Chris the rep aka Hovva at the next meeting, he will telly you.

Britain's air ambulances are funded entirely by donation - i have no idea why, but they sure do save bikers' lives.....even the lives of hyper-speeding idiots on two wheels. They are a great cause.

Re: Sponsorship for the Great North Air Ambulance

Cheers Kitch, The Monster and Kiwi Dave.
I have an old friend who would not be around today if it wasn't for those guys, so it's something that's close to my heart.
Thanks for the chat last night Mort (The Monster), it's good to know that people are listening (reading!) out there.
Even if I don't see you over the course of my sponsored run, as time will be very tight, I will catch up with you somewhere.
Cheers
Mike
