speeding

Just been clocked doing 40 in a 30mile zone travelling home from work in my car. I have travelled this road for ten years 3-4 times a day have always throttled up in the 30 zone knowing that in 20yards I'd be entering the 40 zone but alas i'm guilty. £60 and three points for doing something that I thought was being a responsible driver get up to speed ready to enter a 40 mile zone knowing that this is a very busy road the (A68 out of Tow Law. I have since been told that you don't have to meet the national speed limit just because its got a sign post with a 40 on it. So I've decided the next time I join a motor way i'll not bother throttling up il'l just slip onto the motorway doing about 20-30mph and cause bloody havoc.

Re: speeding

You're supposed to speed up after the higher speed signs, and slow down before the lower speed signs.
When entering a dual carriage way via a slip road, you are supposed to match speeds with the traffic already on the dual carriage way. To do otherwise would be irresponsible, and could lead to a charge of careless driving.
