Me (from Inverness) and my mate Malcy (AKA "Kissmyarse" from Aviemore ) went for a run last year down west coast of Scotland, crossed on Ferry at Dunoon, and overnighted at Annan in a hotel called Queensberry Arms - OK for the Money, I think it was about £50 for the twin room, with breakfast. Drank more than the Goverments recommended limit Came back via Newcastle and the A68. P1sh*d with rain all of the first day and the second half of second day..!! Soaked to the undies even with waterproofs on.! Will keep an eye on my diary, and if we're free we may join you.?

Re: annan one nighter

What site is it? is it Powfoot? 'Cos if it is, then it's a cracking little site right next to the Firth of Solway, but somewhat exposed to the elements! The scenery is just amazing if somewhat eerie, you have to go there to see what I mean!
If I get some work in I'll consider it!
If you're into birding (feathered sort!) you're in for a treat, take your binoculars!
Good "chinky" in Annan, but the Indian leaves something to the imagination
