Re: Nothing to talk about?

I think Sarah's started the bike more than I have in the last few months, just to keep it ticking over of course. Must try and get her to ride it one day[/quote]

I'll look after it for you

Re: Nothing to talk about?

thanks for pretending to care

Almost finished...got the paint back, and spent 2hrs yesterday in a friendly local metal plating shop using their polishing machine on the fork legs.

I found an really nice late 1970s AMF FLH rear wheel off eBay here for 25 quid...and am going to freshen that up with black paint and a dremel polish over the next two weeks.

Amazing how many screw-ups previous owners inflicted.....mismatched and plain wrong fork yokes, poor cam bearing, shitty switchgear, dumb wiring, yada yada yada

I will be riding next week, but when that wheel is on and all is done EXACTLY how I want it, I will post ''before'' and ''after'' shots.

Re: Nothing to talk about?

Another important way to communicate ,is talking to people, another good forum is supporting our monthly meetings. (which lately have not been well attended). Indeed an agenda item, was how we can reach people and encourage them to attend. Not all of use have the use of a computer all of the time. A computer is a great way to communicate but it must never be allowed to replace contact with one another, which in this modern world seems to be the norm. Marathon man ran 26 miles to tell his forum that they had won the battle. Now thats communication (mind you he then dropped down dead.)

Agree whole heartedly with you there but as a few of you know I work away a lot and the forum/website is sometimes the only way I can talk to (almost) sane people. As much as I'd like to be at the monthly meetings I can never always make them. I think I've only managed two since February if you don't count the time I went to the Avalon and spent the night with the scooter club(Sorry Garry)
It's good for me that I can sit here or where ever I am and know what I'm missing and exactly what I can look forward to. Nice to have a bit of crack with the keyboard to keep me sane.

Keep up the good work in keeping me focused!
