Re: Blackburn

Now then, Mr Swampig.
Pete and me are your nearest & dearest in the HDRCGB anywhere near B'burn. I'm told a few Harley bikers meet at the Brittania in Darwen, I think on a Thursday, though I've never made it over to meet up myself.
Our NW region meet regularly on the first Wednesday of the month down in Cheadle Hulme at the Cheadle Hulme pub, Station Rd. The next meeting is 5th April, but as that is the wife's birthday I can't see me making it myself.
If you can make the ride out meeting at Slaidburn at 1.00pm on 23rd April, I think that is the next organised meeting with some lads and girls from Yorkshire and the Lakes. Once you meet a few of the club's characters you'll understand why everyone seems to fit somewhere into this club.
Other events for your diary could be the Carnival procession in Penrith on May day and the Ride for Life both in May. You'll find details of these events elsewhere on the website.

I'm not out and about on the bike at the moment, just because of the crap weather. I'll probably be washing the thick winter coating of WD40 off it next weekend if the Spring looks like setting in properly and the council quit chucking salt all over the place. If you fancy meeting up, let me know which area of Blackburn you live (no addresses on here for security reasons) and I'm sure we can find a pub somewhere between the two of us.

Re: Blackburn

Swampig,
I was going to say if you know exactly the bike you're getting ask some of the lads on the forum what they think of theirs and any extras/mods etc they would make. But I've noticed you're already up and running with doing that. The lads and girls are really encouraging and know what they're talking about usually better than the dealers because we actually ride the things.
