Look at it this way Pete, you can practise waving with your right hand ready for next year now that you don't need to occupy it with braking. ![]() Hope you both got home ok, it was good to see you both there.

| Re: Penrith Day
We were never going to get the numbers turning out at Penrith that we got last year, but we did end up with six bikes each a different model. The format was much the same - park up and display the bikes for a couple of hours, collect loose change for the Ride for Life, and join the slow, very slow, procession round the towncentre waving to our adoring fans. Noteable moments included: *New guy Derek from near Penrith who turned up on his Anniversary Sportster having seen the Riders Club involved in the procession last year and said to himself he wanted to be a part of it next time, so went out, got himself his Harley, and turned up today. Top bloke. *Derek receiving his commemorative medal from the president of the Penrith Lions, shaking his hand and bowing low to have it placed around his neck where it shone proudly for the rest of the afternoon. *The bloke who came up to us with a large model Heritage in a Morrisons carrier bag and wanted to donate it to the club. It only turns out the seat unit comes away to become a phone handset with the dialing buttons underneath. Tacky enough to make a nice raffle prize at a rally somewhere methinks when I get it working.* No Addams Family/Monster Munch girls this time, though the eye-candy on the belly dancing float turned a few heads. Alas for the Harleys boys, we were positioned in the procession between the vintage tractors and the Scots pipe band, staring at the back of this old farmer. * The weather. Never as warm as last year, but bright sunshine and showers through the day until we headed home when the heavy stuff started. Seem to remember similar last year when the Terrors were sheltering under motorway bridges to try and keep dry. Many thanks to all who made the effort - FXSTC Dave, Boogiefool, Mad Max, HarleyFatboy7 (can you believe there are already HarleyFatboys 1 - 6 somewhere on the internet?), new guy Derek and me & my Jo. The grand total this year from the Ride for Life bucket collection - £27.50. Same again next year if we're up for it? Rod Bod

| Re: Penrith Day
Just thought I'd pass on the sentiment of a letter from this year's president of Penrith Lions: 'Dear John, On behalf of Penrith Lions I would like to thank you for the excellent contributuion you and your fellow members made during Penrith Lion's May Day Carnival. It was a pleasure to see the riders and bikes again, unfortunately not as many as last year, but still a delight to see in the parade. The Harley-Davidson Riders Club are always appreciated at our carnival, and I hope you and the riders had an enjoyable day. Please convey our appreciation to your colleagues and we hope you will appear again next year. Yours sincerely Joe Grinbergs President Penrith Lions' Sounds like we made another impression ![]() Rod Bod
