| Camping Weekend: 28 - 30th July
The NorthWest region are holding an informal camping weekend Friday 28th - Sun 30th July in the camping field at the Engine & Tender Inn at Broome near Craven Arms, Shropshire (the same venue as the Vintage Rally). This is a good opportunity to invite non-Harley riding buddies along to see how the Rider's Club throw a party. Having said that, the entertainment is all our own, so anyone who can provide a good rendition of 'Sweet Home Alabama' on the spoons will be especially welcome .The landlord is asking not more than £4.00 per night per person, and his pub does good food, with other options further down the road. PM NorthWest rep Halfwrecked for further details.

Looks like the NW Camping Weekend will be a quiet affair. No takers from the website, eh?If you're still thinking about it ask a question and someone should have an answer. If it's not your cuppa tea let us know so we get it right next time. Cheers. Rod Bod

| Re: Camping Weekend: 28 - 30th July
Too many to name every one but what a grand turn out for the camping weekend. Although I was a late starter turning up with Jo Saturday morning after most folk had had Friday night on the beer there were a number of notable memories. In no particular order: The campsite and pub - brill location and gorgeous scenery. Good roads for a rideout Rideout - after the 130 mile journey down that morning my stamina wasn't up to that of everyone else. But 'Thanks' Halfwrecked (Paul) for leading us on a good route, even though the temporary scaffold pole footbridge over a bit of a river was a bridge too far and Paul wisely opted for the detour. Meeting new 'characters' from around the region and beyond - top people all of you Realising the NW had even attracted a couple of stalwarts from as far afield as Devon and Essex to its official summer event - excellent, and many thanks to Bruce and John & his wife Pool competition - why could no b****r get Paul off the table? We all seemed to have a go but without his star shining particularly brightly in the firmament his luck held all the time I was there Pub games - I can now officially blow a ten pence piece over a beer glass. Cheers Elvis Gina at the bar - willing to flash a wink at anyone for a pint of lager Being called 'Gay' - Paul's daughter seemed to think I had effeminate tendancies. Guess my pale-red (pink) kecks didn't exactly cut the mustard ;) Being told I should ride more like Paul Atkins by my Mrs - she was impressed by the leisurely pace at which he led the ride home (clearly better able than me at keeping his lady happy )Thanks to Paul (Halfwrecked) for doing the organising. It'll be good to do the same again sometime, and especially to meet and party with some more of the good people of the region. Till next time. Cheers Rod Bod
