Vintage & Sportster and NE Rallies.

Hi Everybody.

I 've put this on now as the Vintage & Sportster Rally is 3 weeks away
(Fri 20th) and the NE Rally (Fri 4th July) a fortnight later.

This gives this thread some time, to see if I can get some interest from anyone in Region 6
and maybe North Wales and Staffs, to have a nice group ride down through Shropshire.
I'll put notices in North Wales and Staffs sections to come and see this thread.

For me the Vintage is onto the A49 off the M56 (J10) and straight down
to Craven Arms then 3 B roads to Broome and is 99 miles.

So is anyone interested ?
All we need is a meeting place e.g. just on the A49 (off J10 of the M56)
or perhaps the Raven and a time (to be decided nearer the 20th).

The NE Rally according to Google Earth is 116 miles via the M62 then up the A1(M) then the A66
then onto the A67 to Hurworth on Tees.

An alternative route would be up the M6 to J38 then on to the A685 to Brough, then onto the A66
to Scotch corner then up the A1(M) then the A66 then the A67 to Hurworth on Tees.
Or maybe miss Scotch Corner and the A1(M) and go from Brough via the A66 to the A67 then to Hurworth.

Again, would anyone be interested?
As above, all we need would be a meeting place(s) and time(s).

Nice post Dave and a damn fine idea,
can't plan that far in advance but will bear it in mind like.

I'm off to the South West rally in Chippenham,
this weekend coming; Saturday 7th June.
Brekkie in Ludlow at 10am, avoiding motorways,
If anyone wants to ride down let us know

Re: Vintage & Sportster and NE Rallies.

Hi Dave, I was mentioning these Rallys last Saturday evening to some NW members, Nev and myself are going to the Vintage, but will not be setting off until after teatime, with the intention of pitching tents before it goes dark, Craven Arms is about 2 hours ride from here (manchester airport), I think some of the Mac crowd are going to the northeast I will know more tomorrow night after meeting, Gordon will be at Vintage he usually rides down on his own early friday, will post again if I here anything, cheers Halfwrecked

Re: Vintage & Sportster and NE Rallies.

Ui Everybody.

Thanks for the replies.

I was looking to set off around 2pm from home and to hit the A49 about 30-40mins later then take
a couple of hours to get to Broome.

As it gets nearer for those who want to meet up somewhere on the A49 all thats needed is a place
and time.

Susie, yes I still have the list. PM me an E-mail address if you need another copy.

I will probably not be able to make the Vintage do this weekend, as I have just returned from holiday and have a mountain of work to get through, hope everybody that goes has a great time, cheers Halfwrecked.

Nice to see so many North West guys at the Vintage.

Thanks all for coming, and as I said to Paul, it's good to see the region back up on its feet after a few shaky years.
