Re: Don't be Ripped off by Cheshire dealership!!!!

Just to put in penny worth whatever, I spent my entire life savings on my Harley (yea alright some of it was inherited when my mum died, not much though) I had wanted a Harley for most of my entire life (I like the word entire) since I was 10 years old. Not sure whether i chose my bike or it chose me. More like Sportster might be too small get the cheapest Twin cam 88. which i did. Plenty wrong with the bloody thing, but its my Harley, it always will be and I will never part with it. One day it will have some progressive shocks and springs, different bars (a little lower i think) and the most amazing paint job I can afford. Harely's are not like cars (IMHO) I could not change my bike every three/four years.................................I just need to keep the one I got.....get a bigger shed and............. buy another one

Re: Don't be Ripped off by Cheshire dealership!!!!

Made the same mistake on an 05 fatboy. Spent £12.5K on it to start with and then blinged it up. Dread to think how much it cost me!! Came to trade it in and was offered insultingly low amounts. Unfortunatley it was around the beginning of the recession. Lesson learnt the expensive way.

Bought a 2nd hand Screamin Eagle road king - so its already blinged up and i've not the lost the buying new depreciation, plus i bought it privately not through a dealer. Love it to bits and i'm pretty sure it will be with me until it falls to bits, cos i've not seen anything else that harley do that i'd rather have!

Had good and bad experiences with most dealers within a 100 mile radius. I think it can be luck of the draw, and bad luck if you catch em on a bad day.

Best option for selling currently is on ebay and making sure the advert is seen on the european sites. Out prices are bargains compared to theirs!
