Questions Questions..

Can any of you advise on workshop/maintenance manuals for the soft tails?

Also I notice Edinburgh Harley advertise bike lifts, have any of you seen one of these?

Out of interest I saw a couple of Harley riders heading south at the cock and Bull north of Balmedie yesterday.

Re: Questions Questions..

I have both an official H-D Softail Manual, bought from the USA, and a Clymer, also from the USA through Amazon.
The HD was about $60, and is at least that in £ here.
The Clymer is almost as good as the Genuine Harley article, but misses a few key points. OK for general maintenance though.
Also bought the parts book, which gives the part number for every single part on the bike: useful when ordering spares from the USA.
Don't know how old yours is, but my stuff's for a 2003.
I can e-mail bits of the manuals that have been scanned, when I get the time, and if yours is an '03.
Oh, and the Haynes Manuals are worse than useless IMHO...

Re: Questions Questions..

the Machine Mart ones like Stuarty showed ya are highly rated by everyone.

Just make sure you are comfortable with lowering it and raising it the first couple of times.......have a friend with you for sure. Then go solo when you are happy your pride and joy will not fall.

you got good advice above re manuals. There is NO SUBSTITUTE for the official factory service ***AND*** parts manuals. But once you have them, a CLymer doesn't hurt none.

Great read

This is really a great read for anyone that owns a Harley. This article is from my town in the USA. Scroll down and read the article on empty nest. It's about a Goose named Harley and it follows this guy around town while he's riding his bike. The Goose never flies above him or in front of him. The Goose Even goes in the store with the guy.

Harley should make a commercial out of this.

Scroll down and read the article on empty nest.
