| Questions - ads
Hello Hope your all well ![]() I have a question. Ads on the website. I think the website is the bees knees, however having signed up for ad alerts I do wonder why I get email notifcations of ads to which I then get the error message: Ad removed or not yet approved The ad does not seem to exist anymore. Please return to our homepage. Am I doing summit wrong? Cheers, Roy .... |

| Re: Questions - ads
;-) I just selected a load of options of the HDRC website. So I now get email alerts for anything from a set of wheels for a roadking to a whatever for a whatever. My point is that in signing up for a email alert system, the email alerts I then get include pointers to ads that are not yet approved so in hitting the URL I am directed to a error message page, not the ad. Proposal time: maybe the emai alerts could be sent once the ad which fits the criteria I have chosen is publiced to the website. Cheers, Roy |

| Re: Questions - ads
As an update, I received a number of advert alerts yesterday (16th) based on the criteria I had chosen. All of the ads, when I hit the URL in the advert, came up with an error page saying "ad either removed or invalid". Today, each advert is called up okay. What this says to me, as someone with limited web development experience, is the ad alerts are being sent when an ad is placed, however it takes a day or so for the advert to become live and accessible and make the ad alert useful. This is a problem for your webmaster to sort, as it all depends on the type of webpage technology you use. Must say as a user, I have just started to delete the ad alerts as they always go to an error page and not the ad. However, it seems they are being sent too early. Hope this is useful ![]() Cheers, Roy |

All adverts have to be approved. Before everyone starts shouting it's because we get a high proportion of idiots advertising work-from-home, viagra, fake Rolexes etc. Unfortunately the software sends the email out when the advert is posted, not when we approve it. I didn't write this one so there's not a lot I can do. Sorry

Roger Apologies if this has been covered already but it's 0625 on Sunday and I can't be a##ed to look thru all the threads. I can't open any of the ads with the word "(Main)" at the end of the title line. The only one that opens is the first one for some luggage and that contains a link to an already expired ebay listing page. All of the others cause my pc to lock up for a couple of minutes until it finally brings up a page with nothing but HDRCGB page headers on it, one on top of the other. Any ideas??? Deuce
