Re: John Davey

John was the first 'indie' I had dealings with back in the '70s.
You were always assured of a 'welcome' from him, albeit 'oo said you Scousers could come over the border' or somesuch, but a good deal was usually done.

Sorry to see his departure, and best wishes to all his 'family', and have a long life.

Batman

Re: John Davey

I remember going down to the shop at castleford with a mate of mine who wanted a load of bits for his sportster, spend a load of money on parts and got told to bugger off as he was having a bbq for the road crew.

to quote heidi 'well you know john is john' - says it all really

Re: John Davey

I also remember John from the seventies, he served his time in the Harley scene and was a successful rep for this club for a while. Later he founded his own club (Road Crew) and then ran a HOG chapter as part of his official dealer status. Last spoke at either a 1980's Presidents Meeting or the first Littlecote rally - next saw him on TV charming a court baliff, which was a surprise as I thought he was quite shrewd. We'd often disagree about stuff but I always respected him and I'm glad I got to know him. Wouldn't want to be on Pearly Gate duty when he arrived and have to ask to see his ticket!
