Re: Kevin Parrington aka yorkshire_bloke R.I.P.

Went to Yorkshire yesterday for the funeral and here is a picture I took that Kath has said she would like to see.

With the many thousands of miles Kath and Kev had ridden over 5 continents during their wonderful 17 years together Kev always rode behind Kath when out of Yorkshire, but when at home in his beloved Yorkshire Kev always rode in front so this photo that I was lucky to snap say's it all:

Kev's last ride with Kath behind him in Yorkshire.
PICT0008.jpg

Kath rode helmetless on Kev's Road King on a bitterly cold day behind Kev's hearse on the way to the crematorium at Rawdon West Yorkshire followed by dozens of friends on bikes The motorcade was not interrupted once on the journey through junctions, roundabouts or even traffic lights.

Kath and her sister made very emotional speeches and we all said goodbye to Kev in our own personal way to the true Yorkshire bloke gentleman.

Re: Kevin Parrington aka yorkshire_bloke R.I.P.

Just a quick note from me to say a massive thank you to everyone for their care, concern, condolences and support over the last couple of weeks.

The memories that people have shared help keep Kev alive, in our hearts. You've all made a tough time just that little bit easier.

Special thanks to BaZa, Sue Whelan, Roger and Tooty, for helping me organise a send off that Kev would be proud of. And for everyone who turned out on such a bitter cold day.

It's fantastic knowing I have such good friends out there. You'll help me get through the coming weeks and months.

I will get out and about when I'm ready, cos I know you'll all make sure I do.

Love Kath

A suitably fine send off for a true Gentleman. I feel proud to have made his acquaintance.

RIP Kev.

Can also echo those sentiments. Would have liked to have made it down, but shift work prevented me from doing so.

Take care Kath and all the best.

Kath,

You and your sister did him proud. Kev was a true gent and a good Yorkshireman in all the finest senses of that meaning. He will be missed and remembered.

Take care and we are expecting to see you riding with us again soon.

Andy

Re: Kevin Parrington aka yorkshire_bloke R.I.P.

'Too often we go through life on autopilot, going through the motions and having each day pass like the one before it'

.......not my words but it brings home to us all that we have to live life to the full as Kev did.

It was fitting to celebrate Kev's life and marvel at how much he had packed into his rather than focus on the things that he didn't have time to do.

Forever in our thoughts RIP.
