Woman motorbike rider killed on M3 slip road - Staines News

May 15 2009
By Mark Goode
A MOTORCYCLE rider died today on the slip road of the M3 near Thorpe.
At just after 11am a black Harley Davidson motorcycle travelling from the M25 anti-clockwise carriageway to the M3 southbound left the road and collided with the central reservation.
The rider, a woman in her late 40s, was thrown from the vehicle and sustained fatal injuries at the scene.
The southbound lanes of the M3 were closed until just after 2pm while police from Surrey Police's collision investigation unit investigated the scene.
The Wraysbury to Basingstoke slip road was due to re-open later that same day.
Anyone who witnessed the crash should call the Surrey Police 01483 639922.
More news to follow....

Re: May 15th: Woman Harley-Davidson rider killed on M3/M25 slip road

A BIKERS PRAYER
May the sun rise in front of me
May the rain fall behind me
And the wind follow me
May the angels of my brothers and sisters
Who have gone before me
Guard my travels
For they know the perils
Of the road ahead of me
Keep me safe through the rough city streets
On my way to the land of swirling turns
And rolling hills
Let the colours of fall keep me warm
Let the eagle guide me to the mountaintops
Let the moons light guide me
Through the night
May my tyres not fail me
Nor my engine grow old
May my bike draw life
From the streams i pass
Keep my seat soft and my mind sharp
Let the air of spring breathe life
Into my soul
To journey to another adventure
Besides my brothers and sisters

Condolences to the family and friends at this sad moment in time.

It is always a very sad thing when any biker is killed in an accident but even worse when it is another Harley rider, sorry to hear the bad news!

Re: May 15th: Woman Harley-Davidson rider killed on M3/M25 slip road

lel and myself knew Jan i cant say we were great m8s but she was one of the people we clicked with
We heard friday evening as her hubby works with mick another good friend and they spent wednesday evening talking to each other.
Apperently it happened right in front of her Hubby and the chapter director, poor sods.

She was a nice person and will be greatly missed, by us, but mostly her family,a tragic end to her life, lets hope that that her family find some comfort in that it ended doing what she enjoyed,

It brings life into sharp focus when it happens to some one you know
may your god go with you and please ride safe
