Very sad news indeed. Rocky was an outstanding character and way back I knew that I had "made it" in the Club when Rocky came up to me at a rally for a chat - and even knew my name. After that we always had a good chin-wag whenever we met. In his eighties he was still a striking man and the girls loved him. I remember sitting outside the Triple party one night with him as he talked to the girls and playfully patted their bums. He whispered an aside to me "I get away with murder - 'cos they think I'm harmless!" A true Bexley Groper. At his 80th birthday (6 or 7 years ago) he jived all night with his grand-daughters - and what a mover he was! I have always said my ambition was to be just like Rocky and grow old disgracefully. Sadly that's a tall order which I have little chance of achieving. It was a pleasure to have known you. Rest in peace my old mate. Pyro

I never knew Rocky, but it has been nice to read a little about him and his time in the club, thank you to those that shared those memories because now Rocky just gave me a little of what he had too before he went . My condolences to family and friends.

I had the privilege of knowing and being kissed by Rocky and presenting him with his life membership. I will always remember him at the Boxing day run at Farningham on his trike going down the high street and successfully knocking several pocket rockets of their side stand with the rear trike wheel. Did I know him that day! Of course I bloody didn't - never saw him before in my life! I will be honoured to attend his final journey as someone who knew and respected him.

Very sad to hear Rocky is gone. As many have said, he was a great character in the club. I met him at my very first riders club rally many years ago. At the time, I rode alone and remember him welcoming me as I rode on site. I was 19 at the time, on a SST250 but he made me feel as welcome as if I'd been riding a Big Twin. Condolences to his family, it's always sad to hear of people passing on, but it's somehow harder when it's such a character.
