Night Rod Special

First of all, anyone got a Night Rod? Anyone ridden one, a mates or had a test ride? They didn't turn my head last year when they came out.
But I keep coming across photos and literature on the '07 Night Rod Special. WOW. Can't wait to see it in the flesh. Manchester H-D tell me it'll retail at £12,000. At that price I bet they shift a few to non-Harley riders and bring in some more new blood.

What are the thoughts of the rest of you VRSC boys?

I'm thinking about it...................

But it's still a five-speed. MoCo always seems to be one step behind.

Re: Night Rod Special

Tried one out on Friday, after seliing my R1200GS between Christmas and the New Year.

Hooked after 10 minutes!

Thought the performance was good, the sound was lovely and the brakes etc were great.

It takes a bit more effort to bank into corners, with the wide rear tyre, but what a fantastic bike.

Totally smitten. So much so that I found a cancelled order at Stockport and take delivery next week.

My first Harley and I'm really excited.

Wanted the Denim finish but, if I hadn't bought the cancelled order, was told that delivery wouldn't be till April.

Mind you both the Denim and the gloss look fantastic in the flesh.

Buy one and enjoy!

Good Luck with it. I think the gloss looks richer and will last better. Let's hope the salt stays in the depots. Tony Cross.

Re: Night Rod Special

On balance and looking at the two colours at Manchester H/D yesterday, I think that the gloss does look better.

Started looking at the cost of a few extras including a small bag to fit on the rear fender that you can buy.

How much? £97 for a small barrel bag

A mere drop in the bucket compared to what you're eventually going to outlay! ;)

Thumbs up Re: Night Rod Special

Yea but the Night Rod Special looks to me like a pretty minimalist type of bike so it shouldn't be too bad.

Not long now.........

Mind you I would like to make that sweet sounding engine just a little louder. I mean it would be selfish not to!

Re: Night Rod Special

Picked her up from Manchester H/D yesterday afternoon in the howling gales.

What a stunning bike.

May need to get some bars similar to the V-Rod position because the standard bars are a tad uncomfortable for an old git like me.

Hope that they bring out some louder pipes soon because the sound is lovely.
